Oh yes, we tasted all these cheeses
with “un bon vin du pays”, a good bottle of white wine from Rutishauser Barossa.

Swiss Cheeses Camembrebis Mauerhofer

This Camembrebis cheese is as soft and creamy as Camembert. This white mold cheese made from sheep’s milk is quite intense and earthy.
The Seidenbüffel is another soft cheese we tasted, a silky creamy made from buffalo’s raw milk from the Toggenburg region.

When degustating cheese, fruits like pears, figues, apples, plums, avocados(yes!) are always a good match but also dried nuts or even these Swiss bio black mais crackers we found at our local shop.

This is the Kemmeriboden Geiss, a semi-hard raw goat’s milk cheese. We tasted this cheese on crackers with something different..guacamole and that was surpising!
If you want to stay on the safe side have it with just figues or olives.

With its splash of colourful cornflowers and marigold herbs coat, Fleur de Montagne is an invitation to taste. It comes from the Emmental region. Hyssop and italian herbs will round off the taste give you this little bit of spiciness.

Our favourite Swiss cheeses

the Foodspotters Team liked them all, each very different & all tasteful

” My favourite was the Seidenbüffel, a soft cheese made from raw milk from Toggenburg buffalo cows. It has a softly melting texture and tastes great on a rye crisp bread with grapes.”

“I liked Kemmeriboden Geiss from the Emmental region, semi-hard cheese made from raw goat’s milk.
Texture is smooth, dense, and … mild, with some creamy flavor. Nice;-)”

Pairing cheeses white vegan wine

Did you know?

This August is a chillout wine, fruity,
fresh and uncomplicated perfect to celebrate “a plateau de Mauerhofer fromages”.
As you can see on Mr August’s face expression,
it is a lively, fresh white wine very delicate and seductive
at the same time, with delicious apple and citrus aromas on the nose.
