What is Spiruline?

Spiruline(Spirulina platensis) is a freshwater microalgae that is part of the cyanobacteria
or blue-green algae family. Spirulina has been around for 3 billion years.
There are almost 1,500 types of blue species of which 36 types of spirulina are consumable.

Baking our 1st bread with bio Spiruline

No risk, no fun..we never baked bread…
but hey, if you follow the recipe nothing can go wrong, right?
For our spiruline buns recipe, this is what we need:

– 500g Spelt Flour (Spelt is a good source of dietary fiber)
– 10g fresh bio yeast
– 10g salt
– 250ml water
– lindseeds, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds

1. Fresh yeast in water an stir. Then add the other ingredients. Mix for 10 minutes and cover

3. Then add one spoon of Spiruline to the dough

2. We added some cranberries, sunflower some lindseeds and sesame seeds..

4. Knead for 10 minutes in your Kitchenaid

After an hour, our spiruline dough has raised enough so let’s shape it

After punching it down we shaped some spirulin buns and let it rest for another 40 min on a baking tray..The last step is to preheat the oven for 15 minutes on 240° and place the buns for 15-20min. That’s it!
