For those who are discovering the Biber on this Blog, it is a sweet honey gingerbread pastry filled with almond paste. The beautiful shape and patterns come from the hand carved wooden mould where the pastry is baked. Usually it shows a traditional, typical Swiss figure or local symbol.

Back in the 14th century, this sweet Swiss speciality was called “Birnenzelten,” which later became “Biberzelten,” to finally Biber or Biberli.
The Biber originates from the town of St.Gallen

How to eat the Biber with?

Our suggestions

Eating your Biber cake with coffee is a classic
but you can add 2-3 drops of ginger Liqueur from Sama Sama or Noos Liqueur!
We tasted it and it very pretty nice!
