We tasted the Appenzell Biber from Böhli,
a sweet honey dough with a white almond filling
This Swiss biber is a real piece of art.
just like wood carving but eatable..
For those who are discovering the Biber on this Blog, it is a sweet honey gingerbread pastry filled with almond paste. The beautiful shape and patterns come from the hand carved wooden mould where the pastry is baked. Usually it shows a traditional, typical Swiss figure or local symbol.
